ある農家では、畑に忍び込んでスイカを食べてしまう奴がいるのに手を焼いていた。 いい対策はないかと知恵を絞った末、最高のアイデアを思いつき、看板を作って畑に貼り出した。 翌日スイカ泥棒が畑に来てみると、看板は次のように書いてあった。
「！！警告！！ この畑に、青酸カリ入りのスイカ１個あり」

その翌日、農夫が畑に出てスイカを確認すると、はたして１つも盗られていなかった。
ただし、看板には次の文句が書き加えられていた。

「今は２個」
